Heute habe ich mal locker 700 Kilometer mit dem Auto gemacht indem ich einmal quer über die Insel gefahren bin. Alle haben mir erzählt wie wunderschön Tofino und vor allem die dazugehörigen Strände sind. Am meisten hat mich jedoch der Weg dorthin überzeugt. In meinem Reiseführer stand viel über den Trans Canada Highway und dass es eine der schönsten Strecken weltweit ist und dem muss ich auf jeden Fall zustimmen. Man konnte immer wieder anhalten und schöne Plätze entdecken, aber auch der Highway selber kann sich sehen lassen
Tofino ist ein kleines Fischerdorf ganz am oberen Ende einer Landzunge mit vielen kleinen hübschen Läden
Nachdem ich das Städtchen ein wenig erkundet habe ging es dann weiter zum ersten Strand, dem Long Beach
der seinem Namen alle Ehre macht. Man kann weder den Anfang noch das Ende des Strandes ausmachen.
Anschliessend ging es dann noch weiter zum Wickaninnish Beach der bei den Surfern sehr beliebt ist
Gegen 16 Uhr habe ich mich dann schon wieder auf den Weg gemacht, da ich schliesslich wieder eine ca. 5 stündige Fahrt vor mir hatte
